Rugg & Sons Welding got its start years ago on the family farm when my dad taught me to stick things together with an old a/c welder. Although Dad has been gone for quite a few years now, I still love welding and am now teaching my son the trade. Everything from steel gazebos and custom railings, to steel roses and classic urns have been made in our shop.
Our custom metal urns had their beginning in 2008 when my father-in-law passed away. My wife Cathy, along with her siblings, asked me to build a memorial urn that would represent their father as the hardworking and loyal iron worker that he was. The Tradesman, was made to be a tribute both to him and to the era he was born in - a time when things were built to last.
Since 2008, we continue to meet people who, like us, are looking for ways to honour the character of family members who have passed. With no two urns being exactly alike, each and every urn we make is handcrafted to reflect the loved ones who built their lives and families, and left behind a heritage that has enriched us all.
